we’ve got bags

I have so many bags but I only use a couple of bags at a time.  Sometimes they are so worn out before I even decide to change them.  I’m lazy like that.  I have got to learn more about changing bags regularly to keep them looking like new…longer.  Speaking of bags, aren’t these bags from Larissa Hadjio so unique and so “in” in a weird kind of way.  Ok, I need to have one.

happy mother’s day

It’s Mother’s Day weekend and my son is treating me to lunch at the Japanese resto I’ve heard so many raves about. So what are your plans this weekend? Do make sure to treat your mama to something and somewhere nice. It’s just one day.

thursday finds: wobble, award, paper

These are good additions to any home. First is a great contribution to more fun dinners or lunches. Second solves container problems (just hang and forget about it) and third, well, is just so damn nice.

Soon, I’ll be in a place similar to this.

For now, I’m just ecstatic with the idea of a beach vacation.

Have a great week ahead, dearies.

Ways to Artfully Display Photos

Perhaps you have some great photos of friends and family members, important milestones, memorable moments, or artistic creations, and you are wondering how you can arrange and display them in an artistic and aesthetically pleasing manner for all to see. Here are some suggestions on ways to artfully display photos:

  • Arrange in a Line on a Wall – If you have a room with a particularly long stretch of open space on the wall, it would be good to arrange your photos in a line along the wall with the centers of the images at an equal level. Play around with the symmetry by alternating with tall and short frames. Also, because this style of arrangement is quite simple, you get creative with some other aspects of the photos, such as using old vintage picture frames or decorating the frames.
  • Parallel Lines on Wall – Arrange the photos in two parallel rows, following the rules of symmetry like the first suggestion. Have the tops of the bottom rows at the same height and the bottoms of the top row at the same height. This creates a clean look of having a straight line created between the rows, yet interesting looking because of the varying heights of frames at the top and bottom of the arrangement.
  • Mobile – Get together several photos and hang a mobile on the ceiling. This would be a particularly fun project for a children’s room. Consider the location of where you hang the mobile, taking in such factors as putting it where it can best be viewed and location of other objects in the room. If you have a baby, you can put it on a long pole at the edge of the baby crib.
  • Calendar – A popular way to display photos, particularly among families, is in a calendar. There are many photo software programs for doing this. For the cover photo for each month, choose a large photo that relates to that month or season. Conversely, you can create a collage of multiple photos. Also, you can put smaller photos that correspond to specific dates, such as birthdays or holidays. A photo calendar also makes a great gift.
  • Objects – You can find many online sites where you can custom make your photos to go on various objects, such as cups, mugs, stickers, buttons, clothing, and place mats. Create some nice conversation pieces for your next family function.

thursday find: no more guessing

So how cute are these salt and pepper cellars?  With shakers, there’s always some doubt about what you’re really getting is the right one because they’re often concealed.  Now there’s no more guessing game.  And they’re chic, too.  I love the whole handmade vibe.  And the bonus stitching design at the back is just so nice.

This is just so straightforward.  You want salt, go for SALT.  If you want pepper, go pick the PEPPER cellar. Via designcrushblog.com
