hotel visit: endemico resguardo silvestre

January 25, 2012 in architecture, hotel visit, travel

Incredibly beautiful is this hotel along the sloping terrain of Valle de Guadalupe in Mexico.  It’s actually a group or cluster of hotel rooms.  Each room is detached from one another, supported and held only by steel stilts.

The hotel concept and design is by Gracia Studio, a San Diego-based design house.  Each vista has a panoramic view of the valley, a personal entry door, patio and fireplace.

saturday inspirations

September 10, 2011 in architecture, blog love, design chic, design:must have, photo random

I really want nothing more right now than to lie down on my bed with the rain pattering against the window and watch TV.  But here I am pounding the keyboard thinking of something to write and share.  I’ve been looking at quite a few design blogs and kept wishing and hoping to have a space as stylish, as polished, and as mighty as these ones below.  Right now all I can do is drool.

I should really stop looking at design blogs but I can’t help it especially when I’m itching to do something with my living room’s current state.  And I thought sun shines brighter at my home.  Compared to the ones above, my house is gloomy…and small.

my son and his girlfriend measuring the space.  for what? you’ll know soon.

too cool office

August 27, 2011 in architecture, design chic

If offices here were all like this, no one would be dragged out of their beds every morning to go to work.  This is way too cool.  And perhaps, there wouldn’t be too many complaints from the employees.  Like who can complain with this kind of environment.  Throw in a buffet table, then I can work even without pay.  Well, not really.  A clothing allowance would be nice, too.

casa+pres architects

August 25, 2011 in architecture, people, project

Behind the interior design of this home is talented architect KC Presbitero, a friend of mine who I’ve had a chance to work with on a jewelry shop project 6 years ago.  Too bad the jewelry store closed shop but my friend’s design house CASA+PRES Architects has prospered.

INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECTS

And  here are some of the houses she, together with her husband and partner, designed and constructed over the years.  They have a lot of amazing projects under their belt but these ones are my personal faves.  I love the modern style of the houses with lots of wood and metal mixed with classic pieces.  So modern and part industrial and yet you still feel the cozy warm feeling of home.
