too bad

July 19, 2011 in collabo, found, project

Where can I find artsy iPhone case here in Manila?  Ever since owning an iPhone, I’ve been looking for a case that is unique.  But all I see in the malls are rubberized plain ones with nothing on them except holes and those Hello Kitty cases that are for teeners….Too bad.  I wish our local graphic designers or artists whould come up with a project similar to Indie Cases project.

Each week a series of designs in limited quantities is offered at their site then it’s off to something new.  How cool!  It’s in limited quantity so you can be sure that not every Tom, Dick and Harry has it.

I want the first one.

ink cartridges art

July 11, 2011 in collabo, found, others, project

Oh, imagine the things you can do with printer ink cartridges…I can’t imagine one except of course, to provide ink for printers. But that’s so obvious.  Well, Faith Pearson did more than use those cartridges for printers, she created ART.

This is what you call creativity and recycling at work.  Now if we could only do that with our daily junk, we would be helping Mother Earth while making art accessible for all.

eco-chairs

July 7, 2011 in collabo, design chic, design:must have

Who would have thought that this classic 1940′s chair originally intended for use on submarines and air craft carriers would be so chic now?  The Emeco’s Classic Chair was approached by Coca Cola who requested them to make a version of it using a formulation of rPET or recycled plastic bottles.

The outcome is this stylish yet very durable and sustainable chair that is 100% made from recycled PET bottles (111 bottles to be exact). It can be used indoors or outdoors.

*Coca Cola and Emeco collaborated for four years to come up with this masterpiece.

Available in 111 & 125 Navy Chair

silva bradshaw

June 18, 2011 in collabo, fashion, others, people

If there is anything I would like to have right now, it is a Silva/Bradshaw’s architecturally inspired jewelry.  It’s actually quite popular in the New York fashion scene and for good reason.  The designs are unique, simply striking and elegant.  From its nylon rings to pendants, you can be sure it’s a keeper.

Just look at this Sfero gold ring that comes in a simple shape with a symmetrical surface.  This is possibly the most popular of Silva/Bradshaw’s ring line.  The design comes with three holes representing three ring sizes.  It comes in gold vermeil coated thick in 18k gold for long-lasting wear.  It generally fits sizes 6,7, and 8. This is what I truly want to add to my “collection” aside from that sexy nurse lingerie and French Maid costume.

Another one from the jewelry line is this single pendant designed in a quite unique shape.  This must have been inspired by a technical instrument.  Medical or industrial, I’m not really sure.  But if you suddenly find yourself in need of an instrument, this may take the place of one.
I also love this Torus ring set that plays with textures, shapes and contrasts just by twisting in different angles.
