hotel visit: endemico resguardo silvestre

January 25, 2012 in architecture, hotel visit, travel

Incredibly beautiful is this hotel along the sloping terrain of Valle de Guadalupe in Mexico.  It’s actually a group or cluster of hotel rooms.  Each room is detached from one another, supported and held only by steel stilts.

The hotel concept and design is by Gracia Studio, a San Diego-based design house.  Each vista has a panoramic view of the valley, a personal entry door, patio and fireplace.

hotel visit: babylonstoren.

November 18, 2011 in design chic, hotel visit

Don’t you just love unconventional hotels?  None of the carpeted flooring, very cold airconditioning that no matter how you turn the thermostat down, it’s still cold.  And none of that so cosmopolitan view.  I want a hotel concept that’s totally out of the box just like this Web-Est.com collision estimation software, it’s different and yet so obvious.  Everyone whoever owns a car should have one.

Back to the hotel…Can you feel that I badly need a vacation?

I just love the feel of the place.  It’s a chic and sort of rural luxury hotel in South Africa where you can enjoy nature and lavish yourself with the lavish with first rate hotel amenities plus more.

what’s not to love about Paris.

November 3, 2011 in hotel visit

Nothing, really.  I love everything about it.  Lately, I’ve been reading about Paris and the French.  I guess this is to familiarize myself with the place and the people before I even set foot there.  It’s amazing how this French capital is blessed with so many lovely and beautiful things.  The French got it all.  The climate, the food, the art, the flirtation, the history.  So many movies have been made in and about Paris over the past decades but it still excites me when I see or hear about a new movie and the setting is in Paris.

I have a life plan and part of that is to visit France.  The plan says that I’d get to visit Paris in three years’ time.  So it’s one down and two more to go.  I do hope so.  MG would be 10 by then.  Lucky kid if ever this plan pushes through.  She gets to visit Paris early in life while I get to visit it at 42 or 43.  But that’s alright.  Some people won’t even get to see and experience it even before their death.

And this is where I would most likely stay…La Maison Champs Elysees.  It’s the first hotel decorated by Martin Margiela.

Hotel Aire de Bardenas in Spain

July 10, 2011 in design chic, hotel visit, others, travel

The hotel is like in the middle of nowhere.  It’s surrounded with a wheat field and an amazing landscape.  You’d feel like you’re in Arizona except this is in Bardenas, Spain and Tudela is just nearby boasting of its 12th Century Cathedral.  And if you’re lucky to get a booking around this time, you may even be witness to a bull run which generally happens during the second fiesta of Navarre.  But what is more interesting is the architecture.  Are those metal buildings or what? The hotel is quite unique.  It’s boxy, unpretentious and modern yet unconventional at the same time.  I don’t have words to describe it except that I know I want to stay there.

I love this room especially.  Lovin’ the white on white interior.

hotel visit: don cirillo & suite 68

July 8, 2011 in hotel visit, others

It would be nice to travel again.  As early as now I’m already planning our next getaway.  A friend of mine who has traveled here and far emailed me photos of some beautiful bed and breakfast inns, hotels and even houses and vacations apartments she had stayed in this last two years.  They’re amazing especially this particular masseria in Italy which seems to be stuck in time.

 Masseria Don Cirillo

Suite 68 is also lovely little hotel in Leece.  Don’t get intimidated by the historical building atmosphere coz inside you will find amenities you find in bigger hotels.

These charming photos are from TastyHotels.com.  I can’t show you her photos as I don’t have permission to show them but believe me when I say they’re captivating.  I love receiving emails of that sort.  The feeling is close to finding a diet pill that works fast.    The different inns, hotels and vacation houses are sorted by country so it’s easier for you to navigate.
