Craig Damrauer is so brilliant and funny.  Everyday things and issues are presented in a whole new method.  Math.  Not everyone likes it.  Not everyone is good at it.  But I can relate to New Math and I know you can, too.

places to see before you die

Places to see before you die is a set of 8 postcards referring to popular tourist destinations and landmarks. Instead of the usual postcards of the real places, you get text conveying the distractions felt by a fictional visitor.

The artist further explains the concept behind the postcards:

Collecting postcards of iconic locations is almost like ‘collecting’ the locations themselves, ticking them off a list of places one should visit. Yet when visiting landmarks it’s easy to be distracted by concerns from one’s own life thus feeling like you’re not able to achieve the right level of reverence or appreciation for the site.

I’ve worked in several magazines before and I really envy the stylists that we recruited for certain projects.  I think the job is just so glamorous.  A little accessory here, a fuschia cap and a rugged pair of jeans there and voila, a unique fashion statement!  And I found a great stylist.  Check out Lilia’s  styling portfolio.

make something cool

February 5th, 2009

Make Something Cool Everyday is an ongoing project by an ad man who calls himself Laser Bread.  I love that he uses everyday common objects like Lego, paper, threads, an exacto knife and even chewing gum to create weird, creative and sometimes funny statements and creations.

keyman design

I’m loving these jewelry pieces by Turkish gal, Ceren Keyman.  They’re fun and one-of-a-kind.  And if you think Ceren only does jewelry, you’re mistaken.  She’s also a musician and part of the Quartet.  She also designs furniture.  That I have yet to see.

Could Be Me is a project exploring the possibility of one artist occupying another’s space. It is a visual adventure and an interpretation of the same sentence by different artists worldwide.”

Lithuanian artist Paul Paper invited other artists from all over to create original works of art that feature the phrase, “It could be me, but it’s actually Paul Paper.” Don’t you think it’s brilliant considering that over a hundred artists of different backgrounds willingly participated in this project.  I also love his photographs.
