I’m excited for June mainly because we are scheduled to visit Cebu. Although it would be a short trip, I’m still excited as the last time I was there my little girl hadn’t been born yet. So it’s nice to visit the city with here and see what’s new. I’m also looking forward to taste Cebu lechon for the first time and see what the rave is all about. Anyway, every time we have trips like this, I create a new travel playlist although I’m not so sure if I could listen to it often as it would be a jump-packed 3-day itinerary for us. I’m also hoping to catch some live performance from Cebu’s top bands. I heard they’re good. Well, I’m not even surprised as some of our top singers come from Cebu. With or without the best vocopro, they can surely belt out high notes and melody. So where are the good bars to listen to live bands there?

While on vacation this weekend, my computer is having its much needed R&R called Speed up computer. It’s inevitable, really. And if you’re using your computer almost everyday, it may be due for some cleaning and diagnostic check up. I know I need that too when I find myself running around for errands and stuff. Anyway, I can’t wait for this weekend for some R&R. Needless to say, it’s inevitable. I need to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Although where we’re going, it’s not exactly paradise but it’s close enough.

vacation mode

So we didn’t go anywhere during Holy Week. For one, I had this massive headache that practically got me glued to the bed almost 24/7 and it was too damn hot to go anywhere. And I hate huge crowds. But I badly need a vacation. Our Hong Kong vacation was like eons agon. Nah, it was just last month but it feels like ages ago. That’s how much I miss doing nothing. I miss waking up and looking at my schedule realizing that I only have to eat, drink and shop. I miss going to the mall and even to these out of the way shops where you’ll find quirky vintage stuff and some of the best best mild cigars. I don’t smoke cigars but they’re like so fun to look at. So old world. So old school.

But this weekend, it’s vacation mode once again. I can’t wait to put my feet up and just watch the world go by without a care in the world. And yeah, I plan to eat my heart out, too. So 5 pounds, I welcome you with open arms and open mouth.

I’ve been wanting to do something with our main door. For the longest time and ever since having our own house, a red-colored door has been on my mind. Unfortunately, I’m not that brave to take the leap. For one, I live in a compound where I have to ask the consensus of my neighbors. Just like living in a condo, everything should be uniform. I just can’t color my house a different shade of beige on a whim as it would destroy the whole look of the building. It’s tough but I sure want to do something with our door. Here are some swatches…

I’ve been wanting to install window screens at home especially now that it’s summer and some days can get extremely hot in the afternoon. I know, I know. I should have done this before summer but with my busy as ever schedule, I just couldn’t find the time to squeeze it in. And did I tell you about my little girl’s numerous projects before school ended. There was this one project that I had to sew several pieces of cloth together and this one project where I found myself gluing foam?! I mean, these were projects for 8 year olds. Imagine that. Anyway, I hope this window screen installation which I call my Project Cool will soon become a reality and not just some project that has to be postponed again.

summer renovation

Summer is fast approaching what with the current heat enveloping the whole country. It’s too crazy hot to do anything but things must be done especially home renovations. Summer is the best time to do it as rainfall that could otherwise ruin a house painting job is totally non-existent. Anyway, I have scheduled a waterproofing job this April, among so many that have to replaced and repaired around the house. And did I tell you that one of them is my pocket?!! Yes. After the renovation, my pocket would definitely need some nursing back to its proper health. Just kidding. Some of the things on my buy list are:

Paint
Curtain & Blinds
Screen Windows
triangle pointer knobs
Cement and pebbles
Roofing materials
Pipes for the comfort room

…and so many that I can’t think of at the moment. So what are your plans for summer? Please don’t tell me you’re heading to the beach as I’d ditch my renovation just to come with you.

mini living room

So I told you about the space just outside our bedroom that I’ve been meaning to turn into a decent space? Well, just before the house blessing, I’ve managed to redecorate the whole area in one day. One day meaning I did the shopping in the afternoon (all without any idea in my mind…not even swatches or color scheme) and arranged my shopping haul in the evening. They were only a few items. An accent chair, an ottoman and a few throw pillows to unite the whole area. Plus I took out the study table from my kid’s room and created a whole new work space right beside the mini living room.

My new mini office with the antique study table I got from my father’s family’s ancestral house in Batangas. The chair is also an antique I purchased from my friend’s Dad. And the painting is my own work. Untitled, still.

There may be a few more changes around this area in the coming weeks or months. For instance, a new set of blinds and perhaps, a side table in one area to make the whole more balanced. We’ll see. As in everything around here, it’s a work in progress. All the time….
