busy weekend

February 11, 2012 in personal

Oh how I wish I could just purchase movies I like this weekend. I was really looking forward to doing nothing this weekend. I thought I’d get to relax a bit and just do a movie marathon with the kids. But because of our scheduled vacation the following week, I have to at least finish half of my errands and chores every chance I get. And this includes the weekend. But I hope I can find time to bond with my kids at night. Although knowing myself all too well, I might just fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow. I’ll find time. I’ll make sure of that.

Anyway, I hope your weekend is not as busy compared to mine.  I hope you all have a fun and glorious weekend with your loved ones.  Go eat, drink and be merry.  We only live once.

See how I’m trying to convince myself to just ditch the work and just lay low and have fun.  You know what, I might do just that.

productive day

January 23, 2012 in personal

I’ve been feeling a bit down lately.  Perhaps, it’s that time of the year again.  I don’t know  where this feeling comes from but it comes every so often that I have no choice but to give in.  It won’t go away even if I fight it.  So today I bought DVDs to watch over the long weekend.  I cleaned the house.  I changed the sheets.  I decluttered and threw away junk and broken things.  I fixed my closet and folded my clothes in neat piles.  If I had a reporting engine, today’s report would merit a thumb’s up from the boss.  Not bad for someone having a bad day.

see you next year

December 30, 2011 in happy weekend, personal, to-do list

I’ll see you all next year as I take a day off to enjoy New Year’s eve, spend time with family and indulge in a feast one last time.  See you next year…it seems out of reach but in fact, it’s only a day before it’s officially 2012.  Until I return, I hope you enjoy the rest of the Holidays as it marks the end of 2011 and the beginning of 2012.

Happy New Year, online friends!  We’ve been together almost a year and I’ve loved every minute of sharing the world’s beauty and wonder with you.

I’ll be back January 2 ready more than ever for another year of creativity and awesomeness.

LOVE

why i choose shaving over waxing

December 30, 2011 in found, personal

There are many reasons why people should shave. On a personal note, I shave because long hair on the legs annoy me and I refuse to acknowledge some myths that claim shaving can make hair thick and hard when they grow back. After all, shaving is my weekly ritual.

My protective mother suggested I discontinue shaving because of this actually but I was only able to convince her when I turned 30. That is after explaining to her why people should shave. There are a great many benefits such as firmer looking skin, less bacteria, cleaner finish, and a feminine look, which works particularly for me because I naturally have muscular legs with long, almost curly hair.

Maybe some people do not want to go through the painful process but waxing, I’d say is far more painful. You could cut your skin the first time although it will only take a few sessions before getting used to it. I am reading a few good reviews about waxing. Allegedly, it has more pleasurable results and longer lasting effects. Models prefer this method over shaving and I myself considered it at one point. However, every time I read the procedures, I bail out. My brother has sworn off waxing, too, after the first try because it’s painful, considering he’s a man. With shaving, I only have to use a shaver, shaving soap, and a few optional paraphernalia, and I’m done!

I don’t have to suffer those unpleasant waxing scenarios with shaving so I chose to stick to it. Shaving is not time-consuming, healthier, and the easiest way to maintain personal hygiene.

get a good bankruptcy lawyer

December 29, 2011 in personal, to-do list

Considering all the harrowing process and negative impact on your life, filing for bankruptcy is such a hard pill to swallow but oftentimes, it seems to be the best and fastest way out of a debt pile.  Based on my friend’s experience, filing for bankruptcy entails loads of paper works, pressures, stress, learning new things, and decision-making. One wrong move and one missed digit can lead you back to square one. This is the reason why you need a great bankruptcy lawyer to help you throughout.  You would never want to go at it alone.

Having been knee-deep in debt, my friend Nancy owed huge money to credit card companies, mortgage, and private loans. She cannot point a finger to recession alone because she trusted her business so much and thought nothing can go wrong. One by one, she witnessed her  finances going down.  She tried other means of paying her dues but none of them worked. Every day,  she would wake up to a messy life as if insanity is the only cure. The good life gone bad was luckily saved by a lawyer referred to her by another friend. He recalled the attorney firing questions at her to which she had no idea what the answers were. She only had some papers to help him understand and that’s how her journey towards bankruptcy filing began.

It’s a complicated process but having a good lawyer to help you deal with things lightens the burden.  Imagine a day with a fewer encounters with credit collectors.  Wouldn’t that be great?!  Dealing with debts is a roller coaster ride, let alone filing for bankruptcy. My suggestion: find a good bankruptcy lawyer who will sincerely help you. It may not sound good but it’s worth it. If the money to pay for attorney’s fee is your problem, don’t worry much because some chapters in the bankruptcy code cover this.

alcoholic holidays

December 17, 2011 in personal

I do think that a little alcohol (or a lot) can go a long way in making any gathering a bit more festive.  I don’t know why this is so and I’m not complaining especially during the holidays when there are countless parties to go to.  What I don’t believe in is drunk driving or alcohol use by anyone below 21.  It’s just not right.  Here are interesting facts about alcohol use.
